7 week Winter Wellness programme

I struggle with winter in the Waikato – it’s wet, cold, and grey most of the time. In past years I’ve spent a lot of time feeling really down – unmotivated, anxious, and unhappy – sometimes staying in bed until after 9 even on workdays. It was an effort to get out and exercise, engage socially, or find joy in anything.
Now that I understand the metabolic effects that winter has on me, and others like me, and I know what I can do to counter these effects, I’m much better off mentally, emotionally and physically. But, I still need to stay vigilant and take the right actions or I can easily slip into the black hole of the dreaded winter blues.
During winter, do you:
- Wish you could stay in bed some days?
- Lack motivation to do things you would normally enjoy?
- Suffer from coughs, colds and the ‘flu every winter?
- Feel anxious or unhappy more often than other times of the year?
- Prefer to stay at home and avoid social events?
- Comfort eat more often?

Understanding the roles of serotonin and melatonin, nutrients to support these essential hormones, and getting the balance right.
Dodge the Dreaded Lurgy
Nutrients, foods and herbs to strengthen and support your immune system and respiratory system to stay healthy, or help you get well.
Avoid Winter Weight Gain
Looking at why we crave carbohydrates and comfort foods, and what you can do differently, as well as the best types of exercise do to avoid gaining extra weight over winter.
Stoke the Inner Fire
Nutrients and strategies to keep your metabolism pumping and thyroid firing to keep you warm on the inside.
Fight Cabin Fever
Strategies to find joy and happiness during months of cold, wet weather.
Spring into Spring
Set new health and wellness goals to catapult you vibrantly into the next 3 – 6 months.
This step by step in-house programme takes you through nutrition, herbs, exercise, and lifetyle strategies specific to keeping you well over winter. Each week we’ll focus on a specific aspect of your wellbeing, so over the seven weeks you’ll build up some great resources that will significantly improve your health and wellbeing on all levels, so that when Spring arrives you’ll be all set to hit the ground running!
Each weekly class consists of 2 hours of interactive teaching with notes and resources provided. You’ll also be invited to join a private Facebook chat/support group to ask questions, share recipes and ideas, and get to know each other.
